Borrowing from @jjjmm56 and his black painted engine post , lets see some white painted engines. I can only think of the Nailhead in Tommy Ivo's T and maybe a couple others. So lets see 'em whos got one.
I painted an engine white once, it turned dirty yellow almost the first time I ran it. It's not something I would recommend.
Painted the 454 in my 47 Aero Sedan high temp white and as Burkedore said, it turned tan once it heated up. Gave it another couple of coats of spray bomb white laquer and drove it with no problems for over a year until it was sold. Looked good in a pearl white car. Would I do it again,--------No Had to keep on top of keeping it clean, especially bugs that made it thru the rad and baked onto the block. Canuck
1955 Packards came with ivory painted 352 engines. Always seemed to me to be a poorly conceived engine colour.
Here in New York there are steep fines for painting a Chevrolet small block or big block any color other than Chevy orange....
Powder Coated. 'Chevy 230 in a '36 Pontiac Chevy 235 in a '53 pickup. Took tons of pictures during this build, for some reason never got clean shots of the engine?
