Event Coverage The Fun Rolls On - Photos from the 2017 Hot Rod Hill Climb

The 5th Hot Rod Hill Climb was bigger and more fun than ever. I heard ( this is totally unofficial) that the number of cars actually running went up from around 100 to 160 since last year. The weather was beautiful both days for the reliability run and the main event. One of the hallmarks of a world class event is that you start seeing people from all over the world attending. I met visitors from Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK and Russia. Those are just the ones I met personally. Congratulations to Mike and Amy and the rest of the Nick's Garage team for another extremely well managed event.
This thread will be a little different from my normal thread in that I am going to include a lot more "coverage" type images as well as the kind of more processed images I normally do. Hopefully you all out there in HAMB land will be ok with that.
So without further delay, lets start with this one with my good friends Larry (@safari-wagon ) and Tom in the Single Finger car with a bunch of other people.

I was considering waiting around to do a night shot like that of Central City's main street, but was just a little too wiped out. Thanks for those great shots of me in action too.

Great pictures Dan! I like the photos of people enjoying their rides. There are some pictures in that last post that many people will probably want to print, frame and hang on the wall to remember a special moment in time. I hope they all are HAMBERS so they get a chance to view your excellent work.

So the elevated ramp thing, is that so they can start off in second gear?

 

Thanks The 39 guy. I believe the ramp is for cars that don't have enough first gear to launch up the hill. I will see if I can find out specifically more or anyone who knows and is watching the thread please chime in.
One person who is the face of the Hill Climb and the Dirt Drags too, is Mike's wife Amy. I could make an entire thread of just her raw energy, character and sense of fun always evident in her facial expressions. I am sure the drivers have even more fun than they would otherwise just watching her antics getting them lined up and off the line.
