    Can't tell you much about the car but the driver is Rosie Roussel and the track is indeed a horse track=Bay Meadows in NorCal. I suspect it's a Pacific Coast AAA big car meet. The 3 holes in the center of the hood and 3 visable exhaust pipes on the left would indicate to me it's probably a 3x2 flatty powered car. Also the wide track rear axle kinda suggests it might have been a converted track roadster, which wasn't uncommon back in the early 50s.

    Olio my knowledge of Ramblers is pretty slim but I do remember running a Scrambler Rambler or whatever they were called with the snorkel hoodscoop and the 390 in that car shocked me as to how quick it was. I assumed incorrectly I guess that this car may have had the 390.

    I love this..when real sprint cars showed up on open trailers towed by a pickup.

    So what exactly would have been illegal with this vehicle in '42-47? It appears to have lights and brakes. He is probably checking the kid's license and the vehicle in general. There was no mandatory insurance in those days. It looks like it would have been fun.
