Hey guys, anybody have pictures of Model A roadsters that are running '36 Ford headlights? I have one shot of the Casny 29 with those headlights, but curious if there are any others out there. Wondering if they look too big on a small roadster... Thanks for the help!
"I guess if you mount them low enough they look pretty good." The cowl lights look like they're falling off. The headlights look like they could be fixed with insecticide. Whadda do I know? I've only been doing this for almost 60 years. Traditional? Whose?
Convex lenses! No pics but an opinion... I think they look great. Not many such cars run those beautiful lights. I have those on my 36 tudor. The defining thing are those convex lenses. The car had modern sealed beams when I got it some 30 years ago. But found the parts and converted them back. Now collecting parts for a 34 coupe build and picked up what I think are 36 Studebaker lights. Torpedo shape and convex lenses! If they're too long, I'll look for a set of 36 lights.......
The sealed beams in my 36 lights just didn't do it for me....................... The convex lenses aren't used that often from what I've seen - makes them even more special.
dukes26: "Wondering if they look too big on a small roadster..." Sure seems that an opinion should be in order. I have used BLCs and found them too big for my Model A roadster and could easily be mounted too low. My own unpopular opinion might be calling the Guides trite. Now loving Arrow for size. I was fitting a set of 36 headlights on my roadster build this summer and chickened out. I think they would look really good as long as they are really low and have the 36 lenses on them. I would put sealed beams under them which you can't tell other than they work better.
I tried putting them on my 31 coupe, but was having clearance issues with the tires, so I opted for these. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
