My son drives my old 2006 Ford Explorer 2WD V6. One of the bolts that holds down the crankshaft pulley broke off.

I am looking for an honest shop that will drill out the broken bolt and replace it with a new bolt and torque it down to specs.

Any HAMB'ers know anyone. I'd even be willing to pay a HAMB'er for their help.

    Thanks,

    Justachevyguy

How much clearance around the pulley is there?

I highly recommend White Rock Automotive Garage at 8916 Garland Rd. in Dallas,TX. 214-321-3321
They have been serving the White Rock area for 50+ years. They are honest and fair.
I went to high school with the owner back in the 60's. He's still a good friend.

Sorry, can't help with the mechanic recommendation.

But, curious how the bolt broke?

I had the engine rebuilt before he took it over, so it could have happened from not being torqued down to specs.

Thank you I will check them out. Could I have your friends name and yours so I could introduce myself to him?

I spoke to my friend Tom tonight about your broken bolt problem. Tom said "...no problem...we'll have it
out in a jiffy! Not a big deal either, we've done many just like that." Tom is going to tell his manager Mark
    to expect you.
