    I have a 57 Eldorado (365 dual quad) w/ Hydramatic ******. I removed the engine & ****** and had both professionally rebuilt.

The engine was locked up, so I had to pull engine and ****** at the same time, and when separating the ****** bell housing from engine block, the flexplate bolts had some small triangular spacers/shims.

They are ready to go back together and I have safely stored the little shims / spacers that go between the flex plate and torque converter / fluid drive.

In fact, I put them in such a safe place, I can no longer find them !

Does anyone know exactly what these little shims are called and where I can locate a set to purchase ? They appear to be used as some kind of spacer and if I'm not mistaken, they were sorta triangular in shape and very thin.

I have no problem going without them or fabricating my own, but I'd need to have he dimensions.

Thanks in advance for any help

    Mike

If they were triangular, they may have been locking tabs. Meant to be bent over against one flat on the bolt head to secure it.

    Just found this Service Bulletin.
Looks like shims to prevent vibration...
