Check out this car red and white Crown Victoria about 3 posts down and read the comments then voice your opinions. https://www.facebook.com/groups/956906891095004/?fref=nf
The car isn't my style, but that doesn't mean diddly to anyone else. I don't understand why people comment like that, surely there is a ton of work and money in the car, and looks done nice.
OK this from the rear,I am not going to post it from the front because part of my point was to have you guys READ the comments in the facebook link. Keep in mind the H.A.M.B. concept of being "Traditional" Customs.
Looks traditional to me, although I have never cared much for the look. Still not approved on the site so still cant see the posts.
Personally, I would have extended the rear fenders to meed the bumper in it;s new location. That setts the spare wheel into an alcove. I like that look. It was real popular on the 1951 Mercury back in the day. I've not been approved to check the site as yet.
The bubble skirts, connie kit,and the side pipes ****. I could maybe live with the Packard taillight treatment but it just doesn't quite work. I'm not on Facebook either. Never saw the need to join.
Just for comparison here's a Traditional" 1957 version http://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?***le=Bill_Burnett's_1955_Ford And http://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?***le=1955_Ford You can go back to various years of Fords at the top of the column. Many of the 50's cars had the lakes pipes in that era you will also notice the two styles of skirts used then.
It's not that the skirts and pipes are not traditional. It's that they don't work on this car. Just doesn't flow well with the rest of the car.
That looks like a car owned by John Stanley? Can't remember his first name too well. Met him, and several of his cars way back in 91/92 if I recall correctly. Great guy. I think that car has 3 deuces?
Well I was finally accepted into the group in the horrible Facebook. The comments seem to me to reflect the different views about the car, and since the car is pretty different, there are a lot of them. I personally don't care for the mods, but I know that others don't care for many things I do to my stuff. Don't all customs just reflect what the owner likes?
