14x6 with 5 on 5 bolt has to be rare. They may not have one of the more desireable manufacturer names, but I think they are kinda neat.

Were they all aluminium? Or two piece steel with aluminum faces?

I'm riding on 13 inch 4x4.5 40-lace Weld Star Wires. I bought them from my homeboy. I've also a set of 4 lug American Racing Libres that I roll on. I'll take a better picture of them when she gets out of the body shop.

Is there any way to tell the time period, or date of mfg. of American Racing Torq thrust? DSC09827.JPG DSC09830.JPG

Considering the 15"x6" alum "sport" wheel came out in the '65-'66 period, and was pretty well replaced by the 1970 T70 version without the screw type center cap. I would say your wheels are from between 1966 and 1969. That's a nice pair, definitely some of their best.

Saw this one at the local pick-a-part. A Rader knock off? No markings. Appeared to be 14x6, but possibly 14x5. Ford 5x5.5 bp? The lug holes were wallowed out fairly bad. It was a tiny little wheel.

Even in magnesium they really are not light by todays standards...These will be going to ny if I can ever get enough money rounded up to ship them...restoration of an old ny circletrack modified...

  12. Those are Jag XJ6 or XJ12 wheels, circa '74-'87. Aluminum not mag.

I agree, and if I remember right they're one year only

  16. That is what they are - 5 on 5" OR there was a Mercury version in 5 on 4 1/2". Love the paint color on the wheels by the way - what is it?

    Hey Steve
You ever see a crazier wheel, says 20" Halibrand.

Oops, lost it, maybe from Pinterest, I stumbled on it, I'm not registered.
OK magnesium 20" Halibrand "six" spoke, shows pie crust on it.
Has odd center with multi bolt patterns.
    Ring a bell?

    Edit
Found it but can't transfer photo.
Can you open this link and find it.

  19. Those were on ebay a while back. If I remember right they were supposed to be Mickey Thompson wheels made for those 20" Mickey Thompson Slicks they're on

The 20" slicks are in the 1965 M/T catalog

  20. Unreal! Never seen this size in an early mag wheel but they look like an Indy-styled wheel - the 5 lug pattern and piecrusts say otherwise though don't they?! I'd love 'em just to have 'em...

Picked these up at the Turlock swapmeet....theyre old Hollywood all aluminum Torq Thrust style wheel. Normally their wheel that looks like this but are steel back with an aluminum face they called Barela....these are all aluminum..same style. I think they're different...15x6...had a buddy restore them and they came out great. The center has a rough finish..almost looks like wrinkle paint..but it's cast in. Never seen another set of these in person...has anyone out there had or seen any? Funny thing is that there is a number 1 stamped into all of the hub flanges...even seen the same stamp on the steel/aluminum wheel...

I bought these two wheels several years ago at the Street Rod Nats in Louisville and have never seen another one anywhere, and I really need one more as this one is bad. Let me know if you have one for sale or know where I might find one. The are 4 inches wide 15 inch with a 4 3/4 bolt pattern DSC01124.JPG DSC01125.JPG DSC01125.JPG DSC01124.JPG DSC01125.JPG DSC01124.JPG

I have always been a fan of Minilite wheels. I have a set of 14x6 and 15x7 that were converted from a set of 14x7. ( all machining done by a professional and they balance out almost perfect) I designed a pressure plate and had the plates and three bar knock offs cast. I machined some of the parts and farmed out the delicate machining and center hub to a professional. I sold the car that these were built for and now I am thinking about finding a new home for the wheels. ( but they look so cool on display in my shop)
In my mind these are a timeless design and although imitated the originals look the best.

Those are cool, I've always liked them too, especially when the TransAm cars went to them when the Americans were cracking from all the side loading.
Here's a cool link, and for the diehards honoring the whole pre 65 deal you may want to go grab a beer.
