I have a part that was added to the floorboard of my 34 truck back in the 60's. I have no clue what it was for. My buddy thinks it could have been a spittoon. I am thinking more like a hole where a kid would dump oil onto the exhaust to make a smoke screen to elude the cops. Or a pressure relief of some sort ? What say you ?
That's no mystery part. It's the door that you open to let the heat in from your exhaust manifold. Why it's on the floorboard is a mystery.
that i think was for an exhaust manifold heater on the firewall but maybe they installed it over the muffler to try to get some heat off of it.
Well, back in the 70's, I built some off-topic custom vans for friends (before you could buy one from a dealer) and put a similar device in the floor for "emergency ejection of contraband"......
