Technical 1950 ford windshield wipers

    A simple question I hope. The wiper switch in my car is stuck and the knob fell off. When I try to persuade it does the knob rotate or pull out? I don't want to break it while fixing it.

    That should be a cable on the back of it going to the motor so it should rotate. The cable is probably stuck in its housing. You may be able to remove it and soak it to free it up.

  4. If it's a cable you might soak it a few days in vinegar. Just the cable not the whole thing.

    It pulls out. If you look on the back of the switch you will see a small lever that actuates the cable.
