Steffen, those two videos were great ! keep the photos coming. and by the way, if General Ike didn't take notice of the autobahn we might have not got our highway system as early as we did.
Thank you. I like Ike . And by the way: I live now only 1 mile away from the point where Patton crossed the river rhine ... and pissed in it.
The young sixteen year old is Neil Cook from Porterville, Ca. Photo around 1958, Neal drove this car all over the mountains, and surrounding areas.
In the late 50s early 60s as a "Flatlander" it was fun to drive up to the Motherlode and see all the rods and customs with mud and snow tires. It made them look even tougher.
Here's another channeled Waco Tx hot rod from 1956! Advertising the first drag races to be held at Prarie Hill in 56, 22 miles east of Waco.
Flathead Tommy, That has got to be a pretty much perfect 32 five window. Love it, thanks for posting. Gordon
I think I may have posted this before , but I love it , so........... This turned up at a friends place a couple of yrs ago , story as I remember it is it was built about 1958 then shed stored since then (now in NZ)
Funny thing all of us old guys look alike. I thought that was me standing there. Except I have matching shoes. Well today I do but that may change as any time as much as I fall down anymore
Fer sher! Looks like a decent job of blending the '38 front end on it too. Would like to see additional pics of it w/o the "twin headlights".
I got these from a friends photo album and just had to scan them so they did not get lost in time! With that being said sadly the originals are now gone. Sabers of Colorado Car Show 1960. I know it is 1960 but I think these would fit the 1950's "style" more. Enjoy!
@31hotrodguy Those are awesome, thanks for sharing. You should post them here as well: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/vintage-hot-rod-shows-picture-thread.285678/
Thank you! Next time I get a chance I'll post them on that thread as well. I didn't know about that one. I'll have to check it out. Sent from my SM-G550T using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Looks to be a Wayne head 12 port, which did as the man said, feature 6 in and 6 out, usually ran with what is shown, the Mechanical Hilborn injectors, usually on strait methanol. Wayne and Horning made heads for both the late and early blocks, and they would really really fly.....I ran a couple of these in the early sixties, and despite my true love for flathead Fords, no way could a flattie outrun a Wayne if set up right, tons of torque. Expensive setup. Flatheads forever, but Waynes could run.
