Aww - you said custom bikes. this one goes 40+ MPH - which is something you don't really wanna do on a coaster brake springer...ever. I figure the paint scheme, springer, and WW's qualify it as 'traditional':
I like to road race musclecars. I've got two in the works- One is a '67 Chevelle wagon, the other is a '65 Pontiac LeMans. The Chevelle is modified mostly with bolt-ons to the suspension/brakes. The LeMans is getting an aftermarket chassis. Not old school, necessarily, but modified vintage cars designed to offer excellent performance far beyond their original design intention. That's about as traditional as hot rodding gets to me... ~Scotch~
..or it might be really cool. Its interesting to see what folks are doing, and I don't think I'm the only one who will notice the direct parallels between the design/building of traditional rods and customs, and the other projects some HAMBers have in the works. There's "traditional" hot rod/custom flavor all over these "non-traditional" projects. I hope this thread stays open for awhile, and we see more cool stuff! ~Scotch~
I think everyone already knows I have a '68 Camaro ragtop. Phantom L79/M21 "Hurst Edition." Sorry for the crummy pic.
A men! I can appreciate a little off-topic rides now and them. I'm a car guy, first and foremost. Anyting modified will get my attention. I just like to abide by the rules of the forum. So... here we go... http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c80/Thirdyfivepickup/HAMBINO.jpg <- linkie
I like just about any thing on wheels, if its 20 years old or older. I have a 79 T-bird, 60,000 mile orignal, a 1985 Chrysler LeBaron tubo conv't, a 1950 Plymouth 4 door, and a 1977 Chevy Monza with a Toronado front engine drive unit mounted behind the front seats (pushing instead of pulling). Also have a 66 Honda 450 hardtail chopper, and a 75 Honda 750 semi-chopper. Oh yea, and part of a model A to become a hot rod when time and money allow.
Ive got a 94 Chevy Caprice, lowered, billet 20's for a daily. Also an 87 Samurai for wheelin, spring over, locked up, 32's. Its cool to see a few other Caprice/Impala guys are here. I probably see you guys over on the national SS forum all the time.
A pic of the daily driver staging in an effort to break Trans #2. I was successful - in breaking the trans, that is.
My wife has an '05 Silverado. Wre've been thinkin' about painting the wheels red and getting some of those neon tube thingies to go undernieth. All kidding aside there is a world outside of ours, and there are some neat things happening in it. I'm not involved in it but there are some neat things happening in it.
Hey Mike, nice picture in the link, tell my girlfriend she can come home now...lol Here is my old caprice, and a pic of the 66 LeSabre that my father used to own.
Here's my hotrods.. not 'traditional' but as long as I've been building cars, I'm calling these my 'continuation series' CC (...need 5 x 15 early ET straight spokes for the 56)
Im also part of the schools FSAE Team. Im at the University of Windsor. We use a CBR 600 F4i, Ohln's dampers, custom intake, headers, etc. Way too much custom parts made. Are you going to be at Romeo 57JoeFoMoPar? This is a pic of ours from a couple weeks ago.
'73 Plymouth Satellite. Just finished the 360 build-up. I have to wait through another pay period to get the rest of the money for the TTI headers, and the American Racing Daisy mags are at the shop getting a backspacing adjustment. With 5" of backspacing, I can stuff a 15x10" tire in the rear fenderwells without doing anything. No scrubbie! I've painted the vinyl roof section in white and it will get a few coats of clear and HOK Abolonea flake. If anyone has a 73-74 Roadrunner bulge hood withing driving distance of me, I'd be very interested in it. Once the motor's in and everything's sorted out, full speed on the gasser Edsel.
'73 Ford Bronco - new toy for the summer. 3.5" Duff lift, 2" body lift, 33" interco's, 302/C4/D20, big bearing 9" rear, D44 front, 4.11, lockers, disc conversion, nasty exhaust... fun, fun, fun
got a 62 rambler wagon patiently waiting...a fiat altered project ...& ..getting ready to build a house.....so .......no time ...no money .....haha brandon
Sorry kid, no pics yet. But my other personal project is WAAAAYYY O/T. 1997 Ski-Doo Mach Z. Got a new top end for it and going all out to a goal of 190hp. Think about that for a min. At 800# with me and fuel and all that hp. It does have a Rat Fink sticker on the dash panel. ya gotta let em know who you really are, right? Freakin thing doesn't even have tires. Is there an award for the furthest O/T project?
I actually dont even have a traditional car. My project has been a MINT (60k miles!) 1987 5.0 mustang convertible that I just finished rebuilding the entire rear end on, its got an aftermarket intake manifold, exhaust, shifter, 17" cobra R rims, and some suspension work. Unfortunately I just got in some "trouble" of sorts so the parents say no more mustang (there goes 3 grand in mods alone...). So I guess after all this is over I'll probably start an S-10 project for my daily driver and hopefully I'll get some sort of track-only race car together a little farther down the line. I cant really drive fast cars on the street anymore they get me in too much trouble.....
I got too many pics to post. 69 chevy pick up (heavy mods-think "pursuit evasion" vehicle) 69 Firebird (the Road Virus) 65 Rivi-455 transplant 67 Cutlass 455 transplant (Thanks,KiKi!) 62 Grand Prix-paint and a 421 transplant 64 Grand Prix-ground up custom (take that any way you want...) and about 14 others that are really not worth mentioning...except mabey the caddies...Nah.
68 Mustang Pro Touring, 13" Cobra brakes, Twin Turbo twin intercooled 302, 5 speed, 18"x8f 18x9.5r......ect ect ect....
I would say you're the winner! That sounds pretty crazy fast for a Ski-Doo, fastest one I've ridden was stock and hit 60 in it and that was plenty quick for me
Lux,nope it seems to be going smooth so far if you look close you can see one of the intercoolers behind the driver headlight. The turbos ae T-3's and fit just ahead of the shock towers quite nice after being clocked. Hoboy this one will be EFI to I have a 90deg. throtle body adapter from an Explorer to help making the cold side to the Tbody easier. There is a guy on Stang net with a black Eleanor Coupe ...it looks sharp.
A good post ...shows a different side of the talent and vision that some guys have on here......My parts collector going threw a transformation...'63 Bedford JO truck...with XJ6 Jag front and rear suspension...and running gear
