Hot Rods The NEW 1932 Ford Roadster Pic Thread!!!

My father's '32 Roadster was purchased (for $1500) in 1973 from John Easton (of Oakland, CA) ... who had purchased the car from John Brooke Moheen (or Mohum) Jr. in 1948 for $100:

The roadster was just one of my father's many un-finished projects. It was going to be a bit of a "Resto-Rod" (pretty much the polar opposite of the HEMI32 coupe!) ... stock looking paint job (green with black fenders), rumble-seat, LeBaron-Bonney leather interior & top, cowl lights, etc., etc. ... but sitting on a Pepper Snow & Ronnie White ("Snow-White") built full Jaguar suspension chassis ... and powered by a 351ci Cleveland.

In 1991, we sold it (less rolling chassis, engine & transmission) to Michael Russell (of Santa Cruz, CA) ... and with it, Mike built this very cool Traditional Hiboy:

In the summer of 1993, Russell sold the roadster to Kirk F. White (of New Smyrna Beach, FL).

In November of 1993, White sold it to Glenn Mounger (of Bainbridge Island, WA).

In 2008, Glenn sent me a few snapshots of the car in his "Barn":

... over the years, the flathead got an ARDUN Overhead Valve Conversion (heads, valve covers, exhaust):

... the dash was swapped out in favor of a unit with an Auburn insert:

... and braking was now handled via Kinmonts:

In August of 2011, the roadster was sold at the Gooding & Company Pebble Beach Auction:

Lot #111: 1932 Ford Highboy Roadster
Estimate $125,000 - $175,000; Older restoration, 2- condition;
Hammered Sold at $140,000 plus commission of 10.00%; Final Price $154,000​

I have no idea regarding the current whereabouts of my father's old Deuce Roadster.

I just got this 32 the other day. It was stored in the damp basement of a house about a mile from my house for the last
28 years. The leather interior was covered with a fine mildo , but is cleaning up good. should be a nice ride again.

Thank you for the like and it's a old hotrod from the 1950s with some cool features. The 1932 has been channeled below the subrails ,so they are just under the 32 frame with the nubs still on the rockers. The transmission is a 3 on the tree or on the column so that's just bitchen in my eyes. The rearend is a 1941 and has a closed torque tube mated to the side shifter . Motor Now is a 283 with duntov 30/30 cam and loaded up with speed goodies and hooked to Weber aluminum flywheel . It had a Hot flathead in her at one time and to my understanding it didn't like the hot weather ..

 

Ron, Don't know if you know, but the roadster in the Ford showroom is the same one in the bucket of the front end loader.
