Hot Rods Mating "Iron Duke" 151 to Powerglide

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by lake_harley, Sep 8, 2017.

  1. We are actually using an old 4 cylinder stationary motor in an A sedan with a '39 transmission. I want to say that it is the cousin to the mercruiser without the cross flow head.

The S-10 motors are good motors and can be had carbureted with a simple distributer. I like them real well.

The 78 Monza I am using is also a NON cross flow head. I have a little worry about clearance for the carb and intake in my 26 Chevy. I really want to run the stock hood. The 151 I, have uses the Weber progressive carb. I doubt most folk have an issue with clearance, but the engine compartment on the 26 is rather small.
