Guys, meet Vivian. I’ve owned this car since 1980. She started as as rock-solid body and frame from Arizona. She used to be an old gasser that ran a small block Ford so the firewall was butchered and had to be replaced. Way back when I was able to find a NOS replacement firewall through Hemmings. The car was painted in lacquer in the 90’s and is still very presentable. She was originally built as a cruiser with a stock 350 Chevy and Turbo 350. My brother is also into Hot Rods so the inevitable happened: we kept on escalating our brotherly dick measuring contest by throwing race parts at our cars. Now she’ll turn consistent low 12’s in the quarter with a best of 11.88 at 116 mph on a prepped track. (Yes, I’m faster than my big brother.) I could probably make her faster than 11.50 but that would require a cage which I’m not going to do. Ride along with me on my first nitrous pass of 12.26 at 112mph: Still, she’s a great cruiser and is happy to take us for a ride along the lake or out for ice cream. Granted, she’s a little temperamental when she’s cold but aren’t we all? I even manage to get gas mileage in the teens when cruising in overdrive. As much as I hate to part with her, I’ve got a ’64 Cutlass project in the works and I’d like to start on something else when I’m done with that… my buddy has a ’56 Lincoln Premier that’s in real need of customization. LOL I'm not interested in trades but will entertain offers.
