I'm not normally a fan of skirts but those on your Ford look pretty good. Its those huge skirts that cover up the whole wheel well that look goofy to me.

This is what it looks like without skirts. I kind of have mixed feelings about them honestly

I too prefer mini skirts over full length. ;) OP, keep the skirts, they work on your car.

Skirts are right for the period of the car, never a big fan myself . Skirts make the car look lower, looks good.

Skirts if it's a Custom, no skirts if it's a Hot Rod!

I like them. Go well with that car style.
Sets perfectly. The flush mounts look great.
I ran mine for a while and took them off for the next time I get the urge.
Just like changing your hair style, it'll grow back. If there's any up there.

Once painted to match they will have that "right for the car not stuck on" look. to them. Good thing with flush skirts you can swap back and forth an they don't leave any marks on the fenders. That gives you an option.

Have a buddy who was one of my close buds in high school who used to take his dad's car on Friday nights to go cruising and pop the skirts and hubcaps off, wipe the wheels down with a rag to get the dust off and cruise the Ave with it looking more like a kids car than dad's car. That was until his folks were riding in a friend's car one Friday night and pulled up alongside him on the Ave when they were going to dinner. His dad had a bit of a fit at first but then decided no harm no foul as it was always as it left the driveway when it returned to the driveway.

We actually blended the skirts onto the body for this project.... Yes, you CAN still get the tires out. But it aint easy.

Skirts are hit or miss. Get them to match the car, as shown, and they'll be a hit.

Love the look with the skirts and also that is a great shade of grey on your car. Do you happen to know the name of the paint?

When I was kid, we preferred '56 Olds taillight lenses.

  23. I like the way the body line flows into the skirt on the 52/54 Fords!

Perfect flush flared skirts!!! Had 'em on my '53 Vicky, found 'em at Turlock in '77. Older fellow had them inside the car, wasn't going to bother trying to sell 'em! $45.00 brightened HIS day, MADE MINE!
The '55 Desoto grille with the rectangular parking lights, and the '55 Olds taillights made frenching the headlights a MUST!
Dropped the rear 4-1/2" front 2"...Perfect 'mild custom', powder blue and light gray primer where the hood bird, crest, deck lid trim, and door handles had been...
This made a 'Custom in 4 days'. Rear blocks were the worst part of the job. 'U' bolts were rusty, took every bit of torque my 300-ft. lbs. of torque my Snap On impact could deliver, with 145 P.S.I. from my stand-up compressor!

Now get some lake pipes to make it look longer and lower. Had both on a 53 Ranch wagon with wide whites and chrome reverse wheels with baby moons. Took a stocker to a mild custom in one day.
