Guys a little help if possible.

I have a 6 bladed aluminum fan for my flathead. I had taken it apart to make sure all was as it should be internally before installing it on my motor. I cleaned it up and put it back together. Everything looked good and ***embled without problems. I reinstalled it on my flatty and after a couple of days I noticed it had dripped oil down onto the lower crankcase pulley from the back of the hub ***embly. I took it apart again to check it to see if maybe the main shaft was worn but it measures .745 down its whole length so it doesn't look like its a sloppy fit in the hub/fan ***embly. It all feels pretty snug when ***embling. Is there something I'm missing? Are there any o rings or anything like that on the back of this? I can't see how it could seal at all to be honest as the shaft just slides straight through. I know it wasn't just too much oil as I measured out the 2 ounces it calls for and put it in with an eye dropper. Any ideas on how to seal this up would be appreciated.

I followed that procedure that is listed at van pelts including turning the fan up side down to let any extra drain out and nothing came out so I figured I put in the proper amount. The car is sitting on a flat surface in my garage so it wasn't slanted to the rear for it to run out the back of the hub. I had a couple ideas, like using silicone gasket cement and ***emble it and then squirt some around the rear of the hub/housing where the shaft comes out and let it sit for a day or two to harden up. Hoping it acts like an o ring in the rear area. Also thought about putting a zerk fitting into the screw hole and pumping JD cornhead grease into it.

    Thanks for the link!
