    Hi Board,

Fired up the '50 Fleetline Deluxe 216 today. Runs like a champ, idles well for 3-5 minutes then acts like it's running out of gas. I can rev it and keep it going but the idle is gone. It's a 30 yr old brand new long block with Rochester single, all stock set up. I rebuilt the carb a year ago and had it running ok then but never ran it for more than a minute or two.

Fuel pump is new and delivering gas, and there is gas in the bowl. Accelerator pump works normally as well. No apparent misses and revs great (for a 216).

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks all!

Carb issues. I just went thru the same problem. Do you the insulator and gasket under the carb?? When I took my carb off, there was no gasket, just a insulator and there was traces of gas. I had the carb rebuilt, just to be safe, and I replaced the bottom gasket, BINGO, problem solved.
