Projects Kustom From Outer Space..France calling.

Discussion in 'Traditional Customs' started by Ratatouille, Sep 3, 2014.

  1. I admire your attitude to continue and finish. You are a better man than me because I am less ambitious (lazy). I would probably do something like this Karman Ghia photo and just add the rear fender skirts, spotlights and a fake Studebaker grill.
(Just to be clear, this VW is not mine and I have had nothing to do with it. Ratatouille"s adventures inspired me to do some searching on-line and I happened to come across this photo which reminded me of his project.)

I admire your tenacity and ingenuity. We here in America have it easy when it comes to building hot rods. You're overcoming even greater odds, between the laws and the availability of parts. Hats off to you. The hard work has paid off with the awesome custom you've created.

Awesome news :) You sir, are a true kustom hoodlum, with admirable tenacity. I am glad that I was fortunate enough to catch this thread from it's beginning (Kustom From Outer Space, how could a person not want to see what the thread is about), and happy to be able to communicate with you. Keep on keeping on, Mister. Looking forward to updates.

The first one......on the right, my too much cut original Renault spring....left, Cherokee spring.....

It's already better with just one....

The homemade gearbox crossmember doesn't touch the road anymore......and the trunk is full of parts.....with a empty trunk, the passenger Cherokee spring, and real whitewall new tires, it's gonna be ok.......

    Next spring this week.......;)

I'm so happy for you, Rat! Especially finding a relatively cheap and easy-to-obtain solution to your spring dilemma.

I heard of steel toe shoes but those are the first shipping tape shoes I've seen. The French are always on the cutting edge of fashion!
