ok,i'm going to ask for yall's opinions here.i'm getting my car ready for the Indianapolis Road Rocket's show.the latest thing i want to add to my car is a new carb setup and i'm wondering if you guys think ( cuz i cant make up my own mind!) i should go with a 3x2 setup or a 2x2 ? i was thinking 3x2 but i've been thinkin about changing my mind.yeah yeah,a 2x2 is less carbs, less h***le or just slappin a 4 barrel on there is easier.DONT TELL ME THAT ****.I DONT NEED TO HEAR IT.i've had a 4 barrel on i dont want it anymore.i've made up my mind to go to multiple carbs and i'm wanting you guys to tell me what you think i should do. it's a 1954 chevy 2 door with a 68 327 and i'm not sure where to go..i could get a new 3x2 intake but i know i could pick up a 4 barrel intake with snorkel oil fill tube (which i need to run my nonbreather-havin-valve covers) and then just slap on a 2x2 adapter and probably a straight linkage..if i were to go to a 3x2 i'd probably go to progressive linkage if i could find a cheap one.what are your guys' thoughts?i just want to know which you'd do: a 3x2 or 2x2 and your pros and cons to either.not to sound rude or unappreciative, but i just dont need anyone to tell me why NOT to go to multicarbs at all cuz trust me,i've heard it all before.thanks everyone! creepy
no real reason other then personal prefernce but id go with 2. the addapters are neat but for a sbc id try an go with a sam-o-ram type manifold
If it were me I'd go with the 6 pack and progressive linkage, I used to run my 327 that way. With the price of gas, idling on one 2 bbl will be more cost efficient. I had mine set at 3/4 throttle on the center before the outboards would cut in with all 3 full throttle at same time. I'mm found memories of sinking back in the seat as soon as I felt the accelerator tighten under my foot. Oh ya!!
