phone pics 180.JPG phone pics 181.JPG phone pics 183.JPG phone pics 181.JPG phone pics 183.JPG In the 60s Ron Gerstner had a 34 Ford that was raced and showed. Unfortunately in the 70s in was redone but not as beautiful as in the 60s. The pictures below the original are how we have seen the car today. The motor is long gone although it has a 383. My question is, Can this be the same car? It is all steel and lead, no fibergl***. In the 70s, Helt did the paint on this car.

Not sure what you are asking. The body, ch***is, or whole car?

    Gerstner's coupe is chopped....

does not appear to be the same car
his version was chopped, the bottom section of the body is different, as the cowl and front clip.
The body also tilted back like a funny car, and last I heard I thought he still had the car in Buffalo NY..could be wrong

  4. the original appears to have only 2 door hinges , the later one has three

but both have the same treatment of the hinges

Gerstner's coupe was a single seat in the center with center steering.

I agree with what you guys are seeing, not the same car. Maybe someone saw his at a show and built their own. It has a plate on the dash for the 1981 NSRA show in Columbus

The body does not lift and is not pretty. 9 inch rear with ladders and coils. Not the show quality work but would race for sure
