Maybe 5 - 10 years ago there was a large bunch of early iron in Ohio that eventually went for auction, comprising a huge group of unrestored cars and parts in a hoarding type setting (some inside, some outside). I remember a forum member bought a '38 Ford coupe from the stash. Any ways, before the auction a local contact sent me a bunch of photos that included 3 or 4 1933/34 Ford phaetons. I was told nothing would be sold until the cars around it were sold. By the time the auction list was published, there was no sign of the phaetons (or an earlier promised '32 Victoria).

A couple of the most obvious things are the shortened body height. Look at the distance between the running boards and the rockers. The USA version has a small gap and the Australian version has several inches of clearance. Also look at the B pillars and door hinges. The USA version has the hinges intertwined and the Australian ones are spaced apart.

image.jpeg image.jpeg Mine is still in the garage and never did find a 32 trade for it , I haven't seen any in our area . Neither a 1933 or 34 roadster or Pheaton for sale in the news paper or the local shows. image.jpeg

Easiest way to spot the difference is the spear under the rockers on Ozzie cars, the doors and rockers don't extend down to the running boards plus the lower cowl sweep is shallower.

Not sure if Waddingtons down here still produce the phaeton body as I recall seeing items being sold off in garage sales
