I am in need of a dash cluster & clock for my 52 creastliner. I’m getting ready to search and buy one, I have a question before I look.

Can these be converted to 12 volt and what does it take?

Will a 53 dash parts Work as well? Are they different?

    Thanks,
    Kory

I understand that 12 volts was 1956 only for the gauges and in 1957 they went back to 6 volts until the 60s.

This shows how to wire it up to your gauges, notice that in the diagram it is called a "constant voltage unit". 166instr.jpg

The wiring color codes were kept the same through out the 50's 60's and 70's ;)

I’m looking for a stock cluster, I have a set of 3 round VDO gages that the owner before me was going to do. I don’t want them, or some billet cluster. I have been thinking about putting a linclon dash in it. I’m trying to get the car done and back on the road so stock is perfect for me.

Kept all my original 6 volt gauges, radio, heater fan and wiring. For any 12 volt needs, except lights, I installed new wiring. All work great.
