1932 Ford with fenders , yellow body and frame paint. Will be first shown then driven when completed.
Painter and I can't make up our minds whether we should go yellow body color on the underside of all fenders or black rockguard to provide the protection those fenders are gonna need when it's driven. Those inners , fender braces, are very visible under those fronts especially with the bright yellow body color and the exposed yellow from the frame rail . Any opinions from HAMBERS much appreciated. thank you .

Just rockguard the strip that the tire would throw rocks on.

If you paint the underside of the fenders black, then also paint the ends of the frame black.

Or paint them white underneath. Although that looks better on a blue car.

  7. My 29 Model A Has black fenders and I sprayed black bed liner to prevent rocks from denting them. Works good and you can get tint to color the bed liner whatever color you want.

I've done the underside all three of my FF deuces fenders with 3M Body Schutz. 2 of the cars are black and one Folkstone Grey and the cars are black underneath so it looks good. I've never done it but they say it's paint able?

I agree with warhorse, tint bedliner to the color of the car. Looks good and it
    is functional.

Mine is bedliner that you mix your paint color in. DO NOT PAINT IT BLACK! it will look like a taxi cab. IMG_1204.JPG IMG_0269.JPG IMG_0271.jpg IMG_1204.JPG

That’s like saying the black shadow under a yellow car makes it look like a taxi.

Im sayin yellow and Black paint look like a taxi. Shadows are shadows in my opinion it should be one color.

You are going to show it first, so paint them yellow like the rest of the car and worry about it some other day after they show some wear.

I painted the underside of my fenders and running boards the body color. I coated the centers with a clear rock guard. After twenty two thousand miles they still look good and are easy to clean.
