i just now figured out how to open my conversations on my profile. There are a lot of reall cool people that wanted to talk to me and I never got to converse with them. I'm an idiot.

it's easy to miss, if you don't know what you're looking for. For others who haven't figured it out yet...the tab with the little picture of the envelope, circled in green in this screenshot, that's the thing that turns red when someone's trying to talk to you. Click on it, and you'll get a list of the conversations (private messages) that folks are sending you. It turns gray when you've read them (or something like that).
That explains why I never heard back from you when I let you know about your having won the Nigerian Lottery.
It's also possible to have a notification sent to your regular email when a PM is received on the HAMB. Maybe someone could tell us how, mine is set up this way. Don't remember how I did it.

Like dude said, you can get an email alert when you receive a conversation. Go into your profile page (the head/upper body icon just to the left of the envelope), then go to Contact Details and under Messaging Preferences, you can select "Receive email when a new conversation message is received".
My name is BrerHair, and I am an idiot also. You know, the old PM's used to make themselves known, you didn't have to go looking for them as I recall. Have not been sending any PM's and so have not been looking for them. Sure enough, have a couple sitting there from March. Thanks Jim for the wake up call!
