This is a neat show. The old drag strip is still there. It's a far drive for me. The first time I went I got there about 9 am. An hour later 1/3 of the guys were leaving. By 1 pm the show had wrapped. I think guys get there at 6 am. LOL!!!!! Maybe everyone had to mow their lawns or rake leaves???
It is weird that people leave the show so early. The guys next to me left at 10, but other cars were still arriving so the spaces got refilled. The early arrivals get parked closer to the starting line area. We got there around 7:45 and I was parked in the shut down area, so like 56 shoebox said, people must get their cars there before dawn. Entry and exit is a pain because show vehicles and spectators all arrive & leave in the same driveway, so it makes a bottleneck. I think some old car owners leave early to avoid that.
Plus, unless they have changed it, the people patronizing the fram stand use the same entrance as well. The show cars have to navigate them enroute to the old drag strip. Do the boy scouts still pick all the winners?
Yes, the scouts still pick the winners. The only ones I saw that won were muscle cars and a late model 4X4.
