^^^That 57, 4 door, Hardtop, looks like it could have been a for real Junior Stocker at one time, with the tow bar tabs on the front bumper. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

You built a very nice car. The jr stock tri 5 chevys have always been one of my favorite drag cars. I sent you a PM about rear wheel size.

Thanks for sharing Loudbang! I forwarded the picture to George and here's his response:
"Never saw that photo. That was taken on our honeymoon in 68. The blushing bride is probably somewhere along the fence wondering "What the hell have I done." 49 years later I guess it all worked out"

That's my older brother's 57. He's owned it since high school, in 1968, and raced it off and on, since about 1969. This was with a few different engine and driveline combinations. Most of the time this was at Mid-State Dragway in Havana ILL.

Here's a couple of early photos, taken in about 1969, or 1970.

Hmm who's the little kid in the rear seat? I believe he has a black 55 now. BTW the tow bar tabs were used to tow to the track through 1995 or so. When I restored the car, I put them back on as a nod to its former life.

Ummm......No comment on who the little kid is....Except that by now, he's probably a, (somewhat), old fart, with too many cars. LOL.

  20. Mike, i found another vintage pic in the "vintage shots..." thread, so next time you'll have to look for a trophy gal for your race adventures ...;)

Mike it seems the back of your car is all I ever see. HaHa
This time was really special though. Watched Mr. Cureton from the stands at Tulsa in 67 and 68 but I think this was my favorite view.

And not to mention, it's a beautiful car! A lot of money building the car, a lot more getting it to the track and actually running it, the final outcome, absolutely priceless! I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
