I think it would be a shame to radius those wheelwells, they look pretty sound. in the early 80's I tried to buy an old 55 g***er with a straight axle, super long ladder bars, flip front and set back engine and the wheelwells weren't cut, looking through old magazines they didn't start cutting the wheelwells untill the late 60's when they started making wider tires. That's just my opinion for what it's worth, looks like a real solid car to start with though.
You just gotta look harder up here, I've found some pretty solid mid-50's cars for pretty cheap prices. My '57 Pontiac, for instance. That '55 is nice, though, the only bodies I've seen that nice were old drag cars someone had stripped out. My '55 hardtop the frame was so bad in it tried to break in half on me coming out. So much for making a few bucks off it. But it does have a nice hood....
Whatta' find! Please don't paint it flat black. Love the faided yellow patina look.Black Stealies and white walls too. did you see the yellow Bonneville pus-truck at VLV? Speaking of VLV, does anyone have a pic of that *****in 55' g***er , next to the red 41' Willy's (Yes I know the name) JT
Cut the fenderwells out and fill all them damn holes up on the side... they came STOCK from the factory that way... hahahahaha!! I can't wait to see this baby progress... keep the pics flowing! Sam.
