Yeah- I'm more concerned with vandalism, not gas siphoning.

    Anybody else have an opinion??

In the '70s I had a locking gas cap, locking lug nuts and a slide out bracket on my 8 track.

My 37 Chevy p/u has it from the factory, the seat needs to be lifter to put gas in so all I need to do is lock the doors. I do not have them on my other older vehicles since I have not had any problems with gas theft yet but there is always the first time and if I do install them I would like them all keyed with the same key.

Mine is a cast aluminum, vintage
style flip top. No lock on upper quarter.
    I trust people to
do the right thing. That has worked
since it was built and I'm third owner.
There are so many other things one could
do to spoil your day...that said I do up the windows and lock it at events or when I'm out and about.
    Oh the Hotrod...traditional inspired.
    Seasons greetings...;)

  9. I used to have one. One fine summer day I left for the day. My key ring was in my wife's purse (not sure why) and she was at work. I grabbed a spare set of keys and left. Later that day, over a hundred miles from home and the gas gauge on empty I realized I had no gas key. Locking gas cap sits on a shelf now.

My 34 Chevy will have the locking gas cap that my great uncle had on his 37 Chevy. He owned the car when it was new. My parents later used the same cap on their 47 Chevy coupe, that they bought brand new. Since then it has sat on a shelf for 60+ years.

My NOS GOUGLER Red Dot. I just need to remember the combination, left and right, as there is no key! I also have a NOS GM one for the fuel door however I don't want to cut a hole in it to install. Gas cap1.jpg
