howdy guys...does anybody know if lee lenses is still operating....sent them an emails a month ago and no response whats so ever ???...pretty keen to get a pair of lenses for my 56 vicky. just like to say a merry xmas to all members hope it is a safe and healthy one
Hey first seasons greetings this year! Never heard of lee lenses =) but merry christmas to you and close ones.
I called the phone number listed on their website and it went to voicemail saying the number had not been setup for voicemail. Doesn’t look good.
Lee lenses are available from Kool Rides in Arkansas City, KS and Night Prowlers Kustom Car Parts . com maybe others .
Also I would check ebay. That were I got mine for my 52 chevy. For Rui here is a picture for you. Lee Lens on the left.
Rui, the Lee lens is on the right, the left is a stock 55 Chevy. Lee lenses were generally a smoothed out version of the stock ones and didn't require body mods, maybe just some lamp housing tweeking.
thanks a lot fellas will follow up those leads....pretty sure if i get some they will be the only set in oz. just sent an email to night prowlers...will see how i get on
If I'm not mistaken, the Lee lenses for the '55 - '56 Fords were pretty plain. I think they were just cone shaped. There are many factory Ford and lenses that will work and look much better in my opinion. GM and other car makers have used round lenses that will work with a little modification.
Here's a set on my car. I like the clean look if them. I have a set of '60 Buick and Dodge Polara taillights but decided in these after seeing them on a friend's car.
thanks fellas for all the input...i have ordered a set of lee's...now we just wait... thanks for that pic 56longroof...that is the look i am after...... then when i get around to a full rewire i will use orange globes for indicators in place of the reversing lights....just to separate the indicators from the brake lights... too many idiots over here that don't realise that the flashing brake light means i want to turn in that direction
howdy guys...got my lee lenses..just the same as 56longroof's.....got them today 12/22/17 from night prowlers in arkansas...the were posted on 12/10/17....i think thats how you guys write the date...if not...sorry... great service and great price and only 10 days from america.....taks that long for mail to come from the next town which is only 34km....going away in the morning but on my return i will instal and get up some pics... merry xmas all
Looking forward to seeing them. That was pretty fast shipping. It takes almost that long to get something around here. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
happy new year to every body... just a small question if i may....my vicky is a 56 and i just tried to instal the lee lenses....BUT... i have lost a complete hole...2 screws line up but the third is way out....would that be the difference between 55 and 56 ?? have just sent email to night prowlers but don't expect a reply till first business day of new year. i think it would be a bit too much to slot the holes that much....just gotta think of a plan "B" now.
Can't say what's wrong but how about drill a new hole in the housing? The lens will cover the unused hole.
Did you try rotating them? The 63 Galaxie lenses in my '57 will only go on in one position. The non-symetrical hole pattern may have been to ***ure the oem len's reflectors were positioned correctly??
Same thing happened to me. I contacted Night Prowlers and they sent me a new set. I thought about drilling a new hole but for what I payed for them I wasn't going to settle for that. They are good vendors with excellent customer service. They'll make it right.
diyguy i thought i would find out if they are the right or wrong ones before diving into plan B texas57 yep tried all clock positions and swapping left for right....same deal 56longroof i agree...these lenses owe me $75.00 and are still a good product so don't really want to bodgy them up. also because of the distance involved and freight and so on i don't expect the company to keep sending stuff till something fits. thats why i was wondering if there was a difference between 55 and 56 if not then i will make them fit somehow... by the way...i really like your longroof thanks for your help fellas
There is a difference according to Night Prowlers. They sent me the 55 lenses the first time. Im sure youll have no problems with them fixing it. Thanks for the compliment too. Its a work in progress but my kids and I love it.
Bought a set for my 55 in the first of November, got them the week of Christmas after calling for a few days till i got em on the phone, the guy I talked to seemed real annoyed I bothered him and basically said they weren't amazon, they ship when they ship. The look great on the car but man the customer service was pretty garbage.
glad that you got it sorted a-burly-wind and are happy with them.... so far i have emailed them about it and they replied they are checking it out for me and i am awaiting there reply... not a real big deal....just part of the car game i guess. to quote martin luther king....i have a dream....that one day i will buy a part and get fantastic service and the part fits without any modification...first time. so far it is just a dream....but getting there
howdy guys back again....to continue the story........ yesterday i went to the post office and picked up an unexpected package....hadn't ordered anything so thought it was something for the cook.... opened the package and a new pair of lee lenses from ron at kustom car parts with an invoice saying "all on me" well you could have knocked me over with a mackarel....not only were the new set free....but...they fit i was not expecting this at all and can only say what a great company they are to deal with and there service is second to none i would have been happy to go halves in the deal as i really did not expect them to do that as i know that none of the companies here in ausssie would go to that trouble if you guys are looking for parts with good old fashioned service i will highly recomend CUSTOM CAR PARTS in DECATUR AR72722 real stand up guys
LOL! Maybe you should have ordered these! http://www.iduntrucklights.com/truc...4-inch-round-piranha-led-28-diodes-truck.html
thanks 56longroof...alls well in the end...yep these cars are made for a few stripes... jeffb2 those lights would be great....waste of time being subtle on idiots....but you can't change idiots
