A professional photographer is shooting some drag race starting line action with a large format [i.e., 4" x 5" (or larger) film] camera.

Typically these large format cameras are mounted on a tripod ... but he obviously wanted to get the shot(s) from ground level.

He has a black drape over his head so that he can manually focus the shot without any glare on the "focusing screen" (i.e., the ground-glass at the back of the camera) ... and he must have decided to just bend over the camera vice laying on the dirty asphalt to focus & take the photograph(s).

NOTE: Unlike cameras with a "viewfinder", on a large format camera, the image being focused is projected up-side-down and reversed on the ground-glass at the back of the camera:
