Thought I would share some model builds from about 8-9 years ago. Finally retired and moved up to the real thing this year. Good thing because the old eyes are changing and fine motor skills are fading! This is the Revell 1/16th scale Tony Nancy T/F dragster.

It's kool to see the interest in this thread on the increase. I dig looking at the models no matter
what state they're in...new, restored, revived or as those dirty old things someone just dug up
out of the past. Let's keep it going.

Guy at church gave me these that were his late fathers. He said that he never even thought of me when they took truckloads of stuff to the dump! Said he had tons of this stuff. Anyone know about the top two? 149241DE-D58D-40C6-BF0B-59A4293A3959.jpeg D010DFA1-FE67-4163-AE6A-FB832112A7BA.jpeg

OK here is one I dug up in one of my back rooms... I started it a few years back I actually had kind of forgot about it ...just had to see if I could get more tire in the rear it appears that I did with a slice or two to the floor pan and some rough epoxy work.then looks like I tried some custom paint work also ...then packed it away ....[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I have been sorting through my 60 year model collection lately and wondering what my sons will do with my extensive collection if I pass on without selling or giving them away to someone that appreciates them. Those two AMT 32's should bring good money on Ebay . So should the 34 coupe, provided they are complete.

Just picked this up today. I never bought the original years ago and just had to have one for nostalgia sake. Now it may move to the front of the build line.

While I don’t recall when it was ( early ‘60’s ?) but those were AMT kits that used different box art. The idea was to get dad to bring Sonny in for his free kit and talk the old man into a test drive and hopefully a sale.
I had to buy the Roadster and Victoria, dad didn’t have a car, in fact he never drove one. I grew up riding Chicago Transit Authority buses.

    Hello,

A historical Christmas story as told as long as the brain continues to work…Prior to the big day, at our house, the toy cars and trucks come out to play. The madhouse shopping is finished, the wrapping is also finished and presents are ready for delivery. As you can see, “Big Frosty” hitched a ride with his favorite, green, lowered pickup for a cruise around the “Granddaughter” tree.
upload_2017-12-24_4-13-36.png “Rocking Around the Christmas Tree…”
All of his friends were delivering their last minute Christmas trees for that traditional Christmas Eve, decorating, family get-togethers. They all stopped to rest at the “Granddaughter Christmas Tree” to talk about the holidays. '

The red El Camino remembers the past winter events from 1965, driving in that heavy rain to get home for Christmas, from college, 800 miles away. The 59 Chevy wagon used to take the family to the local tree lot to pick out their tree. Now that the camping stuff was gone, there was plenty of room to put the huge tree on top. The old primer pick up used to deliver Christmas trees from the lot in Bixby Knolls in 1962-63.

You are about to ask how a Christmas tree got secure on top of the 40 Ford Sedan Delivery, even without rear rain channels for surf rack grips. (tied down with rope into the front doors, and another rope tied down tightly, in a triangle, to the rear door and shut.) On lightweight trees with a strong rope, it was not a problem. But the same technique for 50+ lbs, 60’s longboards just did not work. They had to go inside the rear window of the sedan delivery.

Finally, a tree-less grey primered 1958 Impala is waiting its transformation into a sleek, black 58 Impala in various stock, whitewalls, blackwalls, slicks, etc configurations, after the holidays. In real life, it remembers the Christmas tree lot escapades in 1962-63, too.

Even the So Cal flamed, cement truck had no way to take home a tree, so he stuck it where the sun does not shine.
    HAPPY HOLIDAYS...
