I have seen this car race many of times at Westhampton drag strip back in the early 1960s, as a matter of fact I meet the owner bill boer in 1960 when I worked at a service station in queens ny Kelly owned racemaster speed shop out on long island, the car almost always won its cl*** and I only seen it loose once to a sbc powered MG only because of a blown 3rd gear, engine was a 301 sbc hilborn injected w/4speed trans, bill is no longer with us but he was one hell of a driver...
hi. if you have any more info. on that MG that bill was racing against would be great. I believe its the same one that my brother and I restored and are still racing the car now. injected sbc 327 fi ran bm/sp out of jack merkel shop.( (Baby Torque) ( willy the welder.)was written on the car. we ran west hampton a lot. we knew bill when he ran his Willys coupe also.
is there a site with west hampton photos any where? i have a trophy my car won in the early sixties but no photo of it running.
