My first car at 16 was a 56 4 door wagon. Christened it “ The Hog of Steel”. Copper and Cream with a padded dash v8 three speed

A stop at the car wash with about three cans of Bon Ami and some elbow grease would go a long way on that one. I feel pretty good now in that my wife just asked for a purse and book.

  6. looks like this one is a 210 Townsman
V8 auto car with a factory radio, floor appears to be a little better than I expected
some simple patch work and a complete rocker rebuild is the major structure repair
floor mounts and frame look very good
the worst of the sheetmetal repair looks like the rear gate bottom and some dog leg fab

I have the perfect engine for you sitting in my garage. It is a running, original 265 V8 from 1957. I pulled it out of the pickup I am building. I wanted to use it but the starter bolts to the bell housing in stead of the block. That limited my transmission choices to a power glide or three speed manual.
There is only one problem. It is in Bainville, Montana. I would love to see this find a good home. This is the first year to have an oil filter on the block. The VIN indicates it was used in pickups and Corvettes

Might even have access to a SJ 327 crank

  11. I got a 327 (haven't pulled it yet) in a 64/65 C60 Chevy truck.
Thought about using this in something.
    Probably would use different heads.
    Who knows
I keep forgetting how much junk I collected over the years

  15. The caddy is a student project. Getting it rolling is the goal for the end of the school year
I will probably sell my 67 f100 to fund her car
She says I can drive the wagon to school when not driving the bus

Back in 1968 when I was stationed at Ft Hood Tx I pulled into a car wash in Killeen Tx with a buddy with me so we could wash my Cutl*** and watched a couple of sergeants scrub a 55/56 Ford each with a can of Bon Ami and a sponge. We saw the car a few days later all waxed up and looking pretty presentable. I've remembered that ever since. CLR should make that wagon somewhat presentable. Don't forget the bow.

Boy, that thing is solid! Really wish I had of stopped and looked at it now, I'd be hunting stuff to sell so I could buy it! Can't wait to see it after you get it going!

  21. started checking out parts, this time I don't have to fab every part
kinda excited about replacing a rocker with a part I didn't make
the other cool part is that I don't have to modify anything on the body, no chop,no shave just some sheetmetal resto and stance
She has only one request and that is power steering.
