Saw this on a CL ad looking to buy old cars. What the heck did this start out as and why did they do this?
Not to mention those big-*** honkin' loudspeakers hanging off the back! Parade, campaign, rolling billboard contraption?
There was a Kenworth 10 wheel tractor on the 99 line, CA. about 15 years ago. The owner/driver had a full bred Cow-Catcher welded on upfront, 1940s steamer bell on hood and some other railroad appointments. (F7 horns, blasted LOUDLY!) He was about 5'4" tall, mid-60s, sported Osh-Kosh coveralls and a Railroad Engineer's cap. Namepatch on coveralls was 'Casey'! Talked with him at truck stop North of Fresno...Cool 'bag'...
I have no idea of what it is, but it's cooler than the backside of the pillow! I'll take one with a well-muffled big block Chevy under the hood (or boiler ), and a great big stogie cigar to puff on while in cool-cruise mode! Lynn
I think it's two different cars, the boiler/ cow catcher bumpers look different. I wounder is if was a kiddie ride in a park like the Catskill Game Farm Hook and Ladder Big cars like that were not worth a lot in the 50's
This photo is from this summer at a show I helped with, a man named Roger Ree owns it. @tb33anda3rd with it then and now-
This post led me to the link to The Old Motor site. A caption on a photo there led me to a search for "My Baby Thinks She's A Train". After which I stumbled onto this Asleep At The Wheel video which is just too good to NOT share. Which proves what a cool place the Web still is. You can thank me and the OP later.
At least it’s not a R*t R*d. Can’t say I want it, but it’s kinda cool and unique. Sent from my iPad using H.A.M.B.
