Hope you like them. The owner is looking for sleeper custom. The motor is matched to his interior.

That's going to be nice, and there is not going to me another similiar one sitting next to it at a car show.

People love to look at the old speed stuff on that engine:"They made that for Mopars??"

  4. very nice, details, details! I guess the obvious question would be (hey just ballpark) how much would it cost someone to have the roof raised like that?

  5. Thats gonna be cool. The motor already is!

Hey there- the roof wasnt raised at all. Some of the work done (or to be done) is-
frenched headlights, filled seam in the hood, frenched antenna, remove door handles,39 taillights, rear bumper is moved closer to its body& 3 piece fender seams filled. There are tons more pics on my website- but Ill put some more up here if people want to see them. Maybe some before pictures. (and the customer didnt want a roof chop :( ) Its going to be painted a medium grey/blue too.

There are FENTON headers & Edmunds intake manifold. We are puttin two carbs in the manifold too.

Hence the high roof lines.

Love it... How did you peek/fill the hood? I'm getting ready to fill/peek my '50 ply suburban and alot of HAMBER's tell me not to just weld it up do to heat warping the panel.

If you want to talk in detail about it you can call me at my shop anytime between 8am- 7pm EST- Ill be glad to talk with another HAMB guy anytime.

  18. That was a pretty nice car to start with. Is that some kind of protective wrap on the bumpers?

Wrapped and masked with tape my friend. Cheaper and easier than getting scratches out. I have some before pictures if anyone wants to see them. Dont want to put them up unless you want them.

  27. By all means please indulge us with further information as you go. These are very informative showing quality work on a variety of car that doesn't get enough coverage of this type.
    Does THAT make sense?

What is being done to the fire wall on the p***enger side? Smoothing or something more?

    Thanks plenty.

balanced them out so they 'matched' the other side (if you know what I mean).
Dont ever hesitate to call me about questions you have.( That goies for anyone on the HAMB)
Im in the shop most of my waking hours . I only opened in late 2004 and had to move my shop 40 miles closer to home back in Sept 05. (Tripling my rent but saving on gas- go figure)Im really glad people are interested in what I (we) do at the shop. Its nice to see some credibility from people I dont even know. Makes me feel better when Im doling out the paychecks every week to everyone else but me!
After doing this for myself and a few chosen others for the past 25 years, I figured now was the time to try. Working on some others stuff too- more muscle cars than anything esle right now (never understand how that came about but it did) but got a chop in there as well as some older stuff too.

I am the guy who owns this project. The project started out to only touch up a couple of small rust concerns and blend the paint and add overdrive and a George Asche built 6 with all the traditional 50's hot rod stuff; Fenton split manifold, Edmond intake, Egge head, 3/4 cam. The motor is 100/1000th overbore, was a 216 but has a 230 crank and rods and chevy pistons. The carbs are from Tom at Langdon's Stove Bolts as is the HEI distributor.

As you can see from the photos the project grew legs, as most do, when we saw an article on lowering the old Mopars in Rod and Custom.

Lenny can comment on the body mods, I think he is a still unhappy I would not let him CHOP it:D.

The interior will be very traditional in Burgandy Vinyl and a matching burgandy and grey tweed cloth.

We just dont want another small block chevy looking hot rod (I have one) and Magoo's name will be changed to "My Way" when we drive her out of the shop in early July.
