I want to see some custom/ home made shifter knobs for inspiration. I got a piston from a briggs and strat engine that im thinkin about making in to a shifter knob, and I want to see what every one else has done.
I don't have a picture of it, but I made mine out of a 20 mm shell casing I found on the fort. At least I think that's the size. They're stainless steel and polish up really nice.
I took a incense burner, skull, and repainted it,drilled it to fit my lokar shifter, then put a oil lever on top to activate the lockout button.Glued some pop-out eyes on,it's different.I tried to send a pic but it is too big,and won't download
i stole one of the adjusting handles off of my 50's bridgeport mill, but my shifter is made to be "twisted" for shifting instead of forward and back, so it wouldn't suffice for a typical shifter. looks cool though, no pics
i got a switch blade for turn signal and an old .38 revolver for shifter now all i need is a new car to use them
I went to an Army Surplus..Picked out a Blank 50 Cal Bullet..dug through a 5 gallon pale of clips..bought some 7 mm blanks and a Tube of Devcon 5 minute epoxy.. Clip all the 7mm's in except the last one.Lay the 50 cal in the middle and slowly glue one bullet at a time to the 50 Calwrapping it around. position the 50 cal ahead of time where you want it in the centre.. Saw the Bullet tip part off to the desired length for your shifter and epoxy Glue a nut inside for the shifter to thread on.... and PRESTO..a Custom Bullet Shifter Knob. That's what I did.......
