  1. Nice job on the brackets..... and all the other details.
You obviously didn't need too many of the suggestions you received. You are a man with a plan! :D

Love those cars. I have one waiting in the wings for such a build as this.

Love the GM compacts of this era. The aluminum V-8 was just right for these things, but a transplant is welcome as long as other things are upgraded. This is a prime example, please keep posting.

This is mine. Quite warm 215, 5 speed, 4 wheel disks, dual chambered exhaust, kind of an early 442.

There is a blown and punched 215 in this one.

This is going on the next 215

There is a lot of potential and fun to be had with these motors.

It's not a Jetfire with a BBC, just like it is not a Z/28 without a 302. Once you replace the engine with somebody else's, it just ain't the same.

Did you finish this car. I just bought one but the Mods deleted my pics since I listed it FS. Really neat cars.

I had a brand new (stand bore, standard crank) 215 Jet Fire in my home garage for 40 years. Bought to use in my 34 Chevy Master 5W but decided against. A guy comes in the shop with a 62 F85 convertible with no engine and the bells went off. Being a rag top it was very rusty with no floors at all but all that is expected. The usual m***aging to make presentable and getting rid of the turbo, it had the early pressurized carb box, gave a whisper quiet fun to drive ride. Now the proper engine and car are united nearly half a century later. Even stock they are a neat car.

Ready for a home after a 40 year nap:

    Let's go for a cruse:
