I guess what people dont understand is Rudy has a House, a wife and two kids. He builds cars and sells them, he needs to turn them around as fast as possible to support his family. I am not 100% sure but I think that car was a roller, then he chopped it and did some metal work & mechanical work. Rudy is a one man show, he builds really nice cars with what he has. He doesnt have alot of equipment, he gets by on skill and a good eye. I guess what I am trying to say is give the guy a break, if you met him you would understand where I am coming from. I have to agree from my standpoint that seems like alot of money for the car, But you also have to look it as being a really nice start for someone. Jimmy White P.s. I am not swinging from his balls, Rudy is a good friend of mine who I respect.
I know the guy that does his interior work. I have never met Rudy but I feel as though I have. I have seen Rudy's "done" cars up close and personal. Over the years, I have always gone out of my way to see the special cars my friend has at his place (he does most traditional high end stuff around here) and the ones I remember most are Rudy's. We have drank many a pot of coffee looking at his work. His finished cars are so over the top that perhaps people dont want to see him "go backwards" and build a car that has no paint and a few rust spots. ......It must be a quickey money job because the motor doesnt look like jewelry? I dont know, but I'm gonna guess he makes more off the high end ones than this jalopy. plain and simple, If this car was painted and didnt have those silly brakes, it would be in the Peterson Museum parked next to his other one. The top looks very low, as a gl*** guy, I know the major problems ***ociated with going that low. Most guys simply cut and bend the A pillars instead of the major surgery on the cowl area. But, it looks perfect and not really the work of a man trying to make a "quick buck". "If that car was built by a nobody, it wouldnt even have a thread on this board...." Friend, If that car was built by a nobody, he wouldnt be a nobody for very long. I only get to see the "done" ones so I hope he has one of those in the works pretty soon. .2 cents from an old fool
. Plus you can pick up a stock unrestored 33 for less than 12k if you look hard enough.[/QUOTE] Where?.....point me in the direction and I am gone......
Nice quote. Cool compliment. I need the opportunity to see more of this caliber work up close. I'm talking out in the sunlight with no ropes. I need the inspiration to make that sort of leap with the next car I build.
A 6-shot $6 latte from Starbucks followed by a $1.99 pack of Pseudo-Ephedrine will make me **** my pants.
I'm sorry guys but I think this coupe is just about the coolest '34 5wd I've seen in a LONG time. Hard chop, leaned back posts, stinkbug stance, & all. I think it just flat out rocks. I'd install some juice brakes & call it done - until I could afford a few gallons of gloss black. JH
Well said.....It's interesting that in the past several month's I have been checking on many cars on EGay that were supposedly sold to the "high bidder" and the payment terms are "to be paid in full within 7 days, 15 days, or some time frame that is rarely over two weeks. In checking feedback by buyer or seller there is nothing listed 2 month's after the "supposed sale". If you purchased an item over a $1 wouldn't you want it posted in your feedback? I would. Fortunately I have had good dealings through EGay and believe 98% of the people that buy and sell are honest and dependable. Maybe they could post a sign on their Website "No Phishing"
