Please Help Distributor Question

    My question is I have a 1929 Model a engine with from what I can tell is a original distributor but on one side there is a black wire coming out the one side of the distributor base were there is a hole that looks to be original but over sized I have searched and searched to see what the wire could connect too could some one help it is probably something simple sorry no pics my car is under a pile of snow at this point Merry Christmas and Happy new year to everyone

    Looking at the picture this wire is coming out 2inchs left on base of the cable

    i found this pic it is the wire coming out of distributor????
