I have a 32 Ford Roadster (w/ gl*** body). When going down certain roads, the doors shutter just a tiny bit, and get annoying. I temporarily put just a few inches of a body seal in-between the door and body and this has stopped it. In the attempt to look more correct/professional, would like to use a door bumper or seal. I didn't see much on here so far, but was wondering what other people have done and if they can maybe post some pics. Thank you!
You could bolt a 1.25" long section of small square tube welded to a mounting flange at a shallow angle to the door's B jam... and another with a slightly steeper angle to the B pillar... make the B pillar half's holes adjustable ... the door strip rides up onto the B pillar strip when the door is closed... supports the weight of the door... [kinda like a home made dove tail] put it at the area of the door jam with the least contact, [hi or low] should help the vibration... works very well on a coupester... I have seen guys, big guys lean on someone's roadster door with their forearms... ouch...HIH.
Drake has those. I would use a bit of soft putty on the door jamb first to get a idea of the thickness you will need to grind the bumper down too, before you install it.
At 3.00 each a guy can't justify trying to make something to work. https://www.bobdrake.com/32doorbumpers
DOOR RATTLES!! I've had the same problem. Our 32 has constant door rattles. Moved the striker bolt and no change. Added rubber door strips and no fix. What did work very well was wrapping the striker bolt in duct tape. No rattle. But it only lasts a day or two. The rattle is the latch mechanism bumping against the striker bolt. Only a fraction of an inch between two. That seems to be the critical spot. I'm thinking a dove tail in the door jamb might be the fix.
