Three guys went swimming with their snowmobiles still attached on Lake St. Clair over the weekend thinking the same thing.

Oneida,DeRuyter, Sandy Pond, Otisco, Wannetta, Honeyoy, Couple others. The club that ran Albany, Saratoga, Adirondack lakes was AMEC, I ran with CNYIRA. We did do the Lake George Winter Carnival as Joint Events, and ran Caroga a few times also.

Looks like a blast!! I don’t think I could do it with my old cars but wouldn’t think twice with a 20 yr old one.
I’d like to make a 50mph beeline straight and the simply turn the wheel hard left. [emoji15][emoji3]

My Father told me that back in the 30's they would disconnect the brakes on one side of a Model A , get going fast on the ice and hit the brakes and do a dozen donuts.

:D Just a little piece of trivia here. The first music video was"Traveling Man"by Ricky Nelson. It was an idea of his father Ozzie Nelson, who also IIRC had a hand in producing it.
It first aired on the"Ozzie and Harriet"show way back when.
    Good luck.Have fun.Be safe.

Unintentionally good advice. Can't fall through the ice if you're not on it. I'll just live vicariously through your video.

Those are truly good times. It is always fun when mother nature produces good cold and little snow so there is lots of smooth ice on the lakes. Used to have all kinds of fun in my younger days with a '67 IH Scout out on frozen lakes. Get her wicked up, stomp the brakes, and crank the wheel. Short wheel base fun at it's finest.

A sign I remember seeing in Detroit Lakes Mn. "Contrary to popular belief, There is no prize for being the first to put your truck thru the ice."

I got a car for free years ago...(Chevette). Lifted it with truck springs, gutted the whole interior sans driver seat and proceeded to beat the tar outta that thing on Holloway Reservoir on the ice. We were jumping ice berms that the motorcycle guys built. Ran out of gas dead center of the lake. Walked to a station and the guys couldn't believe what we were doing. Great fun!!

Post 12, 2nd video, 33 seconds in. Bald Eagle flies over the ice. What's more American than hot rods and the national symbol of the USA?
