There are no "Seafoam" color for '57. It is either Larkspur Blue or Surf Green. This one appears to be Larkspur Blue.

It is the Unser's Pikes Peak car.

 

That's Bobby Unser's Pike Peak champ car. Not sure of the year.

The car and the tow truck are on display at the Henry Ford Museum here in Dearborn.

Looks like it was still Pontiac powered so it could be any year between 59-62.

 

That is the most beautiful bucket of mud I've ever seen!
Does anyone know anything about that front loader on the little tractor? I think I am going to have to make one of those and I would love to start with a good set of engineered drawings!!!

It appears to be on a Ford 8N and I've never seen like it. I wonder how they formed the lift arms.

 

Tractor appears to be a British built Ferguson, probably a model TEA 20. Loader appears to have a hydraulic dump bucket. If that is the case, that tractor must be equipped with an external engine drive hydraulic pump. The engine drive pump was an add on. The picture appears to be taken in England or Europe, so the loader is most likely of English or European manufacture. Have never seen anything like it on this side of the pond

 

Do a search for "Ferguson Banana loader"!

Thanks for the hint @Constructionbob, I had never seen or heard of these before, and I've got 1949 Harry Ferguson TO-20 with the 4 cyl Continental and external hydraulics that one of those would look great on!

The Smokey Yunick winged roadster driven by Jim Rathmann in 1962. He only ran the wing in Practice as it actually slowed the car due to drag. But it was structurally well designed and came complete with plexiglass side plates. Had the wing been better suited for the speeds being run you might have quickly had every car in the field with one and looking like modern WoO sprinters.

BTW, this was the 1960 500 winning car that went on to become a supermodified. Gordon Johncock's cousin, Nolan, was killed in the car after going over a wall at Sandusky, Ohio and hitting a light pole.
