I always enjoy watching a craftsman at work and this thread shows one of the finest. I have a question since some of this is kind of new to me, what exactly did cutting the cowl accomplish, was it stress relieving it from laying back the A pillars? Sent from my iPad using H.A.M.B.
If you cut the middle out of a tapered angled pillar the roof does not line up at the a pillar while the b and c pillar line up . So the cowl is split to lay back the a pillars . Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Why do you lean the windshield posts back? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Same as above . You can either split the roof or lay the pillars back . Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Flop... does the upper hinge have to change in order to open inline with the lower hinge after you move the A pillar?
Chad, the simple answer is yes. Any time you tilt the top hinge, you need to bend it back inline with the bottom to prevent binding. Using long rod in the pin holes can prove it is in alignment.
