Customs 57 Buick front springs

Hi all from Australia, I've got a 57 Buick Special and I need to replace the front coil springs but I can't get any springs here in Oz. Has anybody fitted any other coils from a different vehicle successfully? Something more readily available. Thanks in advance.

I ordered some for a later Impala that are the same OD and length but have a slightly larger wire diameter. They will be a little firmer than stock and I will probably have to trim the length to get the desired ride height.

 

I got my springs sent from the US from Jamco, and could nominate the drop. No hassles, but not the cheapest option.

 

Have you inquired if you could get a local spring works to make a set? Given your trade background you would have contacts to source components. I've previously had them made as well as others I know up here.
