I’ve always liked watching the AA g***ers. Can we start a picture/informational thread based on this cl***. A/gas AA/ gas supercharged.
Past Jack ****rod One example of the best of the breed. http://www.chuckfinders.com/historycf.htm http://www.jrthompson.net/jackthebear****rod.html If you only Googled the names Chuck Finders, Jack ****rod or Jr. Thompson you would find enough AA/Gas history to keep you plenty busy for awhile.
Originally the S designated a supercharged car but later the NHRA used double letters (AA/G, BB/G, AA/A, BB/D etc) for the blown cl***es. Roo
I believe this is correct. A/GS later became AA/G. Still, if I was wanting pics from the S-W-C, Montgomery, Kohler Bros. era, it's probably best to mention supercharged. (A/GS)
Hello, Hope this clears things up. I used this cl***ification chart on my post about chrome wheels on the drag race cars. "Silver Dollar Willys" from 1964. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/pics-of-rods-with-chrome-steelies.1090043/page-4 Jnaki In 1960, our 671 SBC Willys coupe was cl***ified, just B/Gas then with more weight added, C/Gas. The supercharged cl***es were not designated as yet. That came several years later. The 671 was just getting started in the Gas Coupe and Sedan cl***es. By the time more racers began using the 671, the "s" designation was necessary to equalize the cars and cl***es. Our 671 SBC 40 Willys Coupe using a 292 CI SBC was an official C/Gas coupe in 1960. We would not have been in the AA cl***, but probably the C/GS or CC/Gas designation had we been able to continue racing. Unless we got a bigger motor.
The Ron Bizio Truck. Then, now, and right after I completed the restoration in '87. It was raced from '65 though about 1970, then sat dormant for 16 years, and has been raced off and on since the resto. Current driver Jeff Cryan ran 8.04 @ 169 last October.
That Malco ? recreation? is very cool, love it unchopped. Check out those two piece magnesium American S-2 wheels.
