Hello. I heard that the restored Hollingsworth Nomad sold at B-J on Friday. Did anyone happen to see the price? Always loved that wagon and was just curious. Saw Richard Grave's clone at GNRS a few years ago. If you go to the auction website, they want you to REGISTER to see the winning bid. That's not happening.
    Thanks.

Is it? I thought the original had been found (see TRJ) and recently restored.
    Thanks.

The description says it’s a very exact appearing copy with more modern mechanicals built in 2011

The Sam Hollingsworth Nomad has been restored back to stock condition, not the custom version.

I remember reading an article years ago , maybe in one of Pat Ganhals books that the original car was restored to a numbers matching original when the values of stock Nomads started to skyrocket. Larry

I still have Rod & Custom issue it was featured in. However I didn’t know who’s car it was. Definitely a favorite of mine. I had to do some searching before I could comment about it. I found it in 50 years of Rod & Custom besides the original article.

The original was probably my first exposure to Nomads as an impressionable young lad. And it was the subject of probably the best box art for a Revell car kit. (Not my photo, but I wish that I had this box in my collection.)

The OG was found, I think in Vancouver. No, not restored, just evolved into a typical street machine. Iconic paint is gone, I believe the fuelie is gone too. Urban legends are that it was restored to stock (as stated above) and another says it was totaled. Still another says stolen and never recovered. I believe the TRJ story and they have a few pics to back it up.

The original is in Kelowna BC. There is a recent story on it by Pat Ganhal in the rodders journal. It belongs to my father actually and I was the one to get in contact with Pat. Yes unfortunately the Richard Graves paint job is gone (other then traces of it in the dash and the door jams). It still has the original (modified) seats and Chrome pedals etc.

The car that sold at B-J Scottsdale is not the Richard Graves clone. It's a 2nd clone.
