My brother was a Sgt out of Portland's north precinct for many years.
I heard some less than wholesome story's about the Alberta and Dekum neighborhoods in the 60's/70'.
Definitely has cleaned up its image in the last few years.

    Hey DDDenny,
I am sure that most neighborhoods back in those days had a bunch of shady characters and "less than wholesome" events going on at all hours. Our Long Beach neighborhood had the bad reputation labeled "The Westside." But, as little kids and pre-teens, we were oblivious to those elements... Most of that element was called "The Hoods." Later in the 60's surfing/cruiser days, they were called the "Greasers."

    Jnaki
We were the athletes, wholesome students and hot rod teens, but not "those" greasers and bad elements. Our moms would not let us drift over to that side of the neighborhood influence. She made us wash our dirty Levis, as we were always trying to make them "used" like real hot rodders. The goal was to get them to stand up in the corner by themselves. Ha! What labels that our society creates to spell ...T R O U B L E.

  16. Only car out of place here is the big Humber on the left. All the others , ( 2 FJ Holdens, 1 Topolino, 1 Austin A40 Pickup ) are all racecar material. Is that a British Ford Pilot or a big Ford Prefect behind the Topo.

Loudbang, the Francis for Ford dealership is in Harrisburg, PA. They sold Shelbys and Cobras as well as regular Fords. They advanced into Bricklins later on, but that's another story.
