8.8 ford out of a fox body mustang fits real easy. I had one in my 61 olds f85 and it almost bolted in.
That Mustang 8.8 isn't bulletproof but I'll bet it can handle anything your 350/350 combo can throw at it. Plus up to '93 they had 4 lug axles (maybe redrill them?).
