My father in law gave this to my son. He told us it is welding related. Has a mirror on the tip, a lens and what looks to be adjustable magnification? I immediately thought of the experts on The HAMB!
I Bring nothing to the table on this one......Except that it appears to be German..... Sent from my SM-G920V using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Looks like you put it in a hole and it looks at a right angle. Like put it in a hole in the wall and be able to look up or down inside the wall.
I'm thinking you could look behind structural steel welds in tight locations to check penetration perhaps?
Based on my research (see above) I'm going with Pocket German Microscope. The mirror must be to double down on the available light on the surface you are inspecting???
I was going to say something carried by Maxwell Smart or James Bond. I guess the mirror is to reflect natural light. Reading the use ^^^^^, maybe to inspect your welds out in the field, for weld boring insects? I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
My guess is A REFRACTOMETER, used (for example) to measure sugar concentration in liquids such as maple syrup. Sent from my SM-T560NU using Tapatalk
Yes, a better way for measuring specific gravity -density- compared to say a hydrometer. Useful for battery maintenance, checking the freeze point of engine coolant, beer making. But, I wouldn't use the same one for all activities mentioned. -Dave
Pocket field microscope ... mirror is for the reflection of a light source.... Sent from my QTASUN1 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
That's odd because I was told that's what this thing is !!!! Sent from my QTASUN1 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
